JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform supervise and review the design of the electrical team by checking specifications, schedules, datasheets, drawings, and 3D models to ensure quality, safety, and technical standards are adhered to.
- Experience gained by delivering projects across the complete project lifecycle, from front-end engineering design (FEED) through detailed design, technical assurance, testing and commissioning, and final handover.
- Handling review clients, design engineers and/or third-party design and information to determine suitability and liaise with those concerned to obtain further information if necessary.
- Produces design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively. The term ‘cost’ is to embrace all costs associated with the design and the subsequent construction of the design that are cost-effective, meet the specification's requirements, and can be constructed and commissioned effectively. The term ‘cost’ embraces all costs associated with the design and its subsequent construction.
- Liaise with other disciplines within the organisation or the project team to ensure that all design elements are fully integrated.
- Expertise in the technical execution of process plant systems within an intricate water industry. (proficient in participating in design and construction initiatives utilising digital design methodologies.)
- Understanding and able to write and review technical documentation (technical specifications, control philosophies, URS).
- Knowledge ICA design (instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems), motor control systems, system architecture, fieldbus/communication networks, P&ID’s, ATEX installation practice, functional safety, development of control specifications (URS/FDS), schedules and system requirements within process/industrial environment.
- Ensure co-ordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are coordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Looking at min 6 to 8 years of experience in mechanical design works, with contractor experience in water and wastewater industry
- Experience in water and/or wastewater treatment processes and relevant mechanical design criteria will be advantageous, by reviewing pump calculations, hydraulic calculations, P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams and technical specifications
- General experience in other discipline criteria associated with water and/or wastewater treatment, including civil, process, EICA and project management, will be an advantage.
- General understanding of client regulatory environments.
- Budget management experience will be an advantage.
- Ability to rationalize designs and produce economic plant layouts.
