JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and review the design of the electrical team by checking specifications, schedules, datasheets, drawings, and 3D models to ensure quality, safety, and technical standards are adhered to.
- Review clients, design engineers and/or third-party design and information to determine suitability and liaise with those concerned to obtain further information if necessary.
- Experience gained by delivering projects across the complete project lifecycle from front end engineering design (FEED) through to detailed design, technical assurance, testing & commissioning and final handover.
- Produce design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
- Monitor installation of designed equipment/systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety codes.
- Experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical design (LV and HV systems), motor control centres/switchgear, electrical installations and systems within industrial/process environment, HAZOP assessments, DSEAR/ATEX installation practice, production of SLD/BCD’s, earthing and bonding and familiarity with current UK design standards, including industry-specific standards and working practices. Also, able to write and review technical documentation (technical specifications, control philosophies, URS)
- Proficiency in designing appropriate digital analysis packages and electrical design software such as Trimble/Amtech.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- The candidate shall have at least 8 years of experience in electrical design works, preferably with contractor experience.
- Experience working on water and sewage treatment projects is a must.
- Experience in monitoring members of staff in designing relevant discipline aspects of water and sewage treatment plants will be an advantage.
- Ability to rationalize designs and produce economic plant layouts.
- Ability to present technical proposals clearly, confidently and convincingly.
- Able to work independently in producing the project deliverables to meet project timeline.
- A flexible mind, with the ability to assimilate large amounts of different data at one time.
- Proficient in written and oral communication with good interpersonal skills.
