Re-insurance Broker

• Develop and maintain a good rapport with clients and re/insurers by keeping in touch through emails and regular visits. 

• Prepare new / renewal business proposals. Engage in internal pre-placement, negotiation strategy discussions with Team Head as appropriate. 

• Cover the markets as per internal guidelines, review and negotiate best terms for clients. 

• Confirm renewal/placement of risks with carriers in accordance with internal standards. 

• Ensure proper closure with carriers with complete and accurate documentation. 

• Act as an effective team member aligned to team goals and objectives and participate actively in team strategy meetings. 

• Create new opportunities by actively sourcing additional business from existing portfolio as well as new sources to accelerate revenue growth. Maintain a pipeline of potential expanded opportunities. 

• Identify new placement and product opportunities in regional markets. 

• Develop and document defense strategies to successfully retain existing client base. 

• Select appropriate carriers with expertise in the requisite lines of business. 

• Initiate and create market facilities in LOBs where feasible to maximize leverage. 

• Identify and analyse carrier capacities in new and existing lines of business. 

• 5 years of experience in re/insurance field 

• Reinsurance broking experience is preferred 

• Bachelor’s Degree in insurance related qualifications 

• Certificate of General Insurance is a must 

• Good verbal and written communication skills 

• Meticulous 

• Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS outlook, MS excel, MS words, PowerPoint, PDF)
