About the Procurement Engineer Role:
Engage with stakeholders in new product introduction, manage costs, ensure quality, mitigate supply chain risks, and lead special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with customers, engineering, quality, purchasing, and suppliers throughout the new product introduction process, from part design to mass production, ensuring critical timelines and target costs are met
Ensure cost, quality, and availability targets are achieved for new product introductions and maintained throughout the product lifecycle
Manage cost-related activities, including negotiation, identifying cost drivers to influence design decisions, reviewing and negotiating supplier terms and conditions, and supporting price negotiations
Collaborate with Supplier Quality during the new supplier/component release process, focusing on compliance and sustainability
Manage Last Time Buy activities to minimize obsolescence risk
Work with internal teams and suppliers to develop capabilities, ensure continuity and capacity, and identify and mitigate supply chain risks
Lead special projects and key initiatives or perform other duties as assigned
To succeed as a Procurement Engineer, develop strong negotiation and analytical skills, and build solid relationships with suppliers and internal teams. Stay updated on industry trends and focus on compliance and sustainability.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or related fields
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in technical procurement experience electromechanical
Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel frequently, entertain customers, and visit suppliers
Prior procurement experience with electromechanical components for medical device manufacturing is advantageous but not required
